It's a new year... again

My daddy just changed the keyboard.. and it feels so much better than the previous one.. :D Anw, it's another year. Channel 5 cancelled the live telecast of the nation's countdown and i was a lil disappointed. But i dun see how cancelling the telecast will make the victims of the tsunami tragedy feel any better. Nor will it bring them back to life. All it does is to further emphasize the tragic-ness of the tragedy. And hopefully reflect upon us Singaporeans as sympathetic kind souls who would mourn together with those affected. What i feel they should have done is to continue with everything planned, only to add prolly 3 minutes of silence for the victims... and a donation hotline to raise funds for the peple affected.. We can't keep dwelling on what has already happened.

What replaced the countdown was a pathetic computerised 'countdown' that goes '10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1..Happy New Year Singapore..' Hahs.

It's a new year. Seriously, there's nothing special about it. 1st Jan is just like any other day. What's so special about it, i think, is that it symbolises a fresh start. If you've a consistent late record for school, you will be given an entirely new fresh empty record to start with, on par with everyone else. If you've blacklisted yourself in the minds of teachers due to constant late assignments and ponning of school, you'll have a new batch of teachers to start working on, who have no hint at all the naughty things you've committed. A fresh start, everything is brand new. Sure hope that everything goes well for you guys in the new year.

Nonetheless, i will list down my resolutions for 2005 (praying that i'll remember them come Jun '05)

1) Find a part-time job with flexible time.
2) Learn Spanish + French
3) Lead a sub-dis. by end Jun '05
4) Bible study on John and Acts
5) Learn how to chair in bigg groups
6) Learn skateboarding
7) Learn how to harmonise.. (my last yr resolution)
8) Active learning -- read 2 books per month

Yupps. God, help me to find a job by mid-jan. Arghh.
